Microsoft’s fixing this annoying Windows 11 fault

Windows 11 has introduced some fantastic features for businesses, and Microsoft is actively working to enhance the experience even further.

One area where many of us face challenges is the Recommendations feature in the Start menu. If you’ve ever clicked on it expecting helpful suggestions, only to be met with random or irrelevant options, you’re not alone. Fortunately, a fix is on the way.

Let’s break down what the Recommendations feature is designed to do.

The idea is to present you with apps, files, or websites that Windows believes you’ll want to access next, based on your usage patterns. For example, frequently used apps or recently accessed files are supposed to appear in your Recommendations for quick access.

Sounds like a useful, time-saving tool, right? In theory, it could be a game-changer for busy teams. But with suggestions often feeling unrelated or off-target, many users have been ignoring this section of the Start menu entirely.

So, what’s changing?

Microsoft is actively rolling out updates (currently in testing) to make the Recommendations feature much smarter.

They’ve improved how Windows identifies relevant content, and early feedback suggests the updated feature does a much better job of showing you what you actually need - like that document you were working on yesterday or the app you frequently use during work hours.

If the Start menu has been a source of frustration for you, keep an eye out for these enhancements. They’re definitely a step in the right direction.
