Say goodbye to hours wasted on PowerPoint slides

Ever stared at a blank PowerPoint slide, not quite sure how to turn a pile of notes into something that looks professional? Or had a well written Word document but no clear idea how to transform it into slides that are clear, polished and engaging? Creating strong presentations often takes hours, with much of that time lost to formatting, copy pasting and aligning layouts.

Microsoft has introduced an update that makes the process much easier. Copilot, the AI assistant built into Microsoft 365, can now create individual PowerPoint slides directly from a Word file. Instead of beginning with a blank slide, users can now start with one that is automatically built from their own content. What once required an afternoon of effort can now be achieved in just a few clicks.

Slides can be generated from a section of a Word document or even the entire file. Copilot pulls the text across, formats it into a clear slide, and produces a professional starting point. The user retains full control, with the ability to refine layouts, adjust colours and add branding, but the heavy lifting is already complete.

For businesses, this feature represents a significant step forward. Presentations remain central to how ideas are shared, whether pitching to clients, delivering reports to colleagues, or setting strategy. By reducing the time and effort needed to create them, teams can focus on clarity, confidence and impact rather than layout and formatting.

Anyone already using Microsoft 365 with a Copilot licence can access this feature today. In PowerPoint, look under the Home tab for “New Slide with Copilot” or click the Copilot button and select “Add a slide”. While it will not yet handle custom colours or detailed branding, it provides a professional base that saves considerable time and effort.

This development shows how AI can simplify day to day business tasks and allow teams to concentrate on the work that truly matters.
